Google launches Pixel Watch 3 series along with Pixel Buds Pro 2 with Pixel 9 series; Check details

Google expanded its product portfolio in India by unveiling the Pixel Watch 3, its third-generation smartwatch, alongside the Pixel Buds Pro 2, a new pair of truly wireless earbuds.

These new devices were showcased at the Made by Google hardware event, which also featured the latest Pixel 9 series smartphones. Both the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 incorporate AI and advanced technologies to enhance the user experience in wearable devices.

The Pixel Watch 3 is available in two display sizes, 41mm and 45mm, providing users with options to suit their preferences. The watch is equipped with Google’s new Actua display, a significant upgrade from the AMOLED screen used in the previous generation. This display supports a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, making it easier to view the screen in bright environments. In low-light conditions, the brightness can dim to just 1 nit, minimizing strain on the eyes. Additionally, the bezels are now over 16% thinner, giving the watch a sleeker appearance.

The Pixel Watch 3 introduces several new fitness tracking capabilities. Users can plan detailed running routines and monitor metrics such as cadence, stride length, and vertical oscillation. The watch also supports new readiness and cardio load tracking features, which are designed to assist users in focusing on recovery and optimizing their fitness plans. Fitbit users will benefit from a Morning Brief feature that provides a summary of their health information, including overnight changes in key metrics.

Despite the introduction of new features, battery life remains consistent with the previous model, offering up to 24 hours of usage with the always-on display mode enabled. However, when battery saver mode is activated, the Pixel Watch 3 can extend its runtime to 36 hours. The 41mm variant also supports 20 percent faster charging compared to the second-generation Pixel Watch, making it more convenient for users with busy schedules.

Pixel Buds Pro 2: Specifications and features

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are Google's latest truly wireless earphones, featuring the new Tensor A1 chip, which significantly enhances performance. This chip is designed to process audio at speeds 90 times faster than the speed of sound and is claimed to be twice as effective in active noise cancellation (ANC) compared to the first-generation Pixel Buds Pro. The earbuds also incorporate Google's Silent Seal 2.0 technology, which improves noise cancellation, particularly at higher frequencies.

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 feature 11mm dynamic drivers and leverage the Tensor A1 chip for superior audio quality. Enhanced Clear Calling functionality reduces background noise during calls, resulting in clearer conversations. The earphones also seamlessly transition audio between Pixel devices, including the Pixel Watch, offering enhanced convenience for multi-device users.

A standout feature of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 is Conversation Detection. This feature cleverly pauses media playback and activates transparency mode when the user starts talking, seamlessly transitioning back to ANC and playback after the conversation ends. The earbuds also integrate with Google's Find My Device network, enabling users to locate them on a map and trigger a sound from the earbuds or charging case when they are nearby.

In India, the Pixel Watch 3 is priced at Rs. 39,900 for the 41mm model with Wi-Fi connectivity, while the larger 45mm model starts at Rs. 43,900. Both models are offered in Hazel, Obsidian, and Porcelain color options, with the 41mm variant also available in Pink.

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 is priced at Rs. 22,900 and comes in four colour options: Aloe, Charcoal, Hot Pink, and Porcelain.

Both the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 will be available for purchase in India starting August 22 through various retailers, including Flipkart, Reliance Digital, and Croma.
