JD Vance is 'absolutely' convinced that Trump believes he could become president again if necessary.

Sen. JD Vance agreed with former President Donald Trump's claim that the vice presidential choice is not important to most voters. However, Vance emphasized he's "absolutely" certain Trump is confident in his ability to serve as commander in chief if required.

During a comprehensive interview scheduled for Sunday morning, "This Week" co-anchor Jonathan Karl questioned Vance about Trump's recent remarks regarding Vance's preparedness to assume the presidency immediately, if necessary. Trump did not offer a direct response to this query.

"His primary selection criterion was, 'Can this individual assume the presidency immediately if, unfortunately, something occurs?' He answered affirmatively."

An Ohio senator stated that voters are primarily concerned with the presidential candidates, rather than the vice presidential choice.

"People are casting ballots for Donald Trump or Kamala Harris, not for JD or Tim Walz," he stated. "I also believe that he's correct in saying that the political aspects of this situation don't have a significant impact."
