Qatar Airways acquires 25% stake in private African carrier Airlink

Qatar Airways has announced a 25% investment in Airlink, a private African airline, the companies revealed on Tuesday.
No financial details of the deal were immediately disclosed.
Headquartered in South Africa, Airlink provides service to over 45 destinations throughout southern and East Africa. This deal will strengthen the existing code-sharing arrangement between the airlines.
Qatar Airways currently flies to 29 destinations in Africa.
“Our investment in Airlink further demonstrates how integral we see Africa being to our business’ future," Qatar Airways group chief executive officer Badr Mohammed al-Meer said in a statement.
