Amid a string of attacks in the country, the Pakistan Army has vowed to not let the “hard-earned successes” against terrorism go to waste.
The Pakistan Army on Tuesday held the Corps Commanders’ Conference. It was presided over Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.
The meeting comes at a time when a series of recent attacks have resulted in the deaths of at least 50 individuals, including 14 security personnel, in the troubled Balochistan province. Pakistan has been grappling with insurgencies in the Balochistan province in the south and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the north-west. While the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) is leading the fight against the Pakistani state in Balochistan, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is leading the insurgency in the north-west.

“In analyzing the hostile forces, malicious actors, subversive proxies, and the enablers of Pakistan’s external and internal opponents, particularly those active in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the forum discussed a variety of measures to neutralize these threats. The forum reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army, with the unwavering support of the people, will not allow the hard-earned achievements against terrorism to be undone,” said the press release, as per the newspaper.
Army stresses on action against terrorists
During the conference, top commanders focused not only on suppressing terrorists but also on ensuring their prosecution.
Acknowledging the “urgency and importance of a robust and effective legal framework”, Munir emphasized that the Army would continue to provide “comprehensive support to the government, administrative bodies, and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in taking swift and legal action against terrorists, anarchists, and criminal mafias”, as reported by The Dawn.
The newspaper further reported that top commanders “expressed satisfaction with ongoing efforts to combat illegal spectrum operations in collusion with terrorist networks” and highlighted the “crucial importance” of safeguarding national cyberspace through “strict cybersecurity measures”, according to the newspaper.

The newspaper reported the release as quoting the commanders as expressing solidarity with Kashmiris and condemning the “blatant continued violence and genocide of Palestinians by Israel”.
