'RRR,' 'Karthikeya 2' Lead Telugu Content Boom on ZEE5 Global

ZEE5 Global , a streaming platform specializing in South Asian content, has reported significant success with its Telugu-language offerings.
On the eve of Telugu Language Day, Aug. 29, the platform revealed that Telugu has emerged as one of the most popular Indian languages among its global audience, alongside Hindi and Tamil. The Oscar-winning “ RRR ,” along with “Karthikeya 2” and “Hanu-Man,” have set new milestones as some of the most-watched Indian films on the platform. “RRR,” in particular, has transcended language barriers, available to viewers worldwide in numerous language versions.
The platform has seen Telugu content gain traction in markets such as the U.S., U.K., Australia and Canada. In the past year, Telugu viewership accounted for 25% of all non-Hindi language content consumption on ZEE5 Global. The company also noted a 10% increase in Telugu content viewership from the first to the second quarter of this year.

Other noteworthy titles include films such as “Gaami” and “Prema Vimanam,” as well as series like “Bahishkarana,” “Paruvu” and “Maya Bazaar – For Sale.” Notably, “Paruvu” emerged as the most-watched non-Hindi series this year, while “Hanu-Man” secured the top position for non-Hindi movies in 2024.

ZEE5 Global provides content in a wide range of languages, encompassing 18 Indian dialects including Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya and Bhojpuri, as well as six international languages.
