Riz Ahmed's Amazon Comedy Series Enlists 'Man Like Mobeen' Star Guz Khan

Guz Khan has joined the ensemble cast of Riz Ahmed ‘s upcoming comedy series on Amazon Prime Video , Variety has reported.

The project was initially revealed in June . Ahmed serves as the writer, executive producer, co-showrunner, and lead actor of the untitled half-hour series. According to the official synopsis, the show follows “Shah Latif (Ahmed), a struggling actor on the brink of landing the role of a lifetime, only to find himself plunged into a full-blown existential crisis and trippy conspiracy thriller simultaneously.”

Khan will appear in a series regular role, but exact character details are being kept under wraps.

Khan is best recognized for the series “Man Like Mobeen,” which has aired four seasons on BBC Three with a fifth on the horizon. Khan stars in the series and was also its co-creator and writer. His other TV roles include “Our Flag Means Death,” “The Gentlemen,” “Taskmaster,” “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin,” “Turn Up Charlie,” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral.” He has appeared in films like “Army of Thieves,” “The Bubble,” and “How to Date Billy Walsh.”

He is represented by Curtis Brown in the UK and UTA in the U.S.

Ben Karlin is the other co-showrunner and executive producer on the Ahmed series. Ahmed serves as an executive producer alongside Allie Moore under their Left Handed production company. Jake Fuller executive produces for Jax Media, which is producing the series alongside Amazon MGM Studios. Left Handed has a first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios, under which this show falls.
