Peter Dinklage to Lead Audible Agatha Christie Adaptation

Audible has set a star-studded voice cast for an adaptation of Agatha Christie ‘s debut novel “The Mysterious Affair at Styles,” including Peter Dinklage , Jessica Gunning and Himesh Patel.
Dinklage will portray Christie’s famous detective Poirot alongside Patel as his companion, Captain Hastings. “Baby Reindeer” breakout Gunning is voicing antagonist Evie Howard and “Succession’s” Harriet Walter is taking on the woman at the center of the mystery, Emily Inglethorp. Other cast members include Rob Delaney as Alfred Inglethorp, Phil Dunster as John Cavendish, Patsy Ferran as Mary Cavendish, John Bradley as Lawrence Cavendish and Vivian Oparah as Cynthia Murdoch.

According to its official description, “The Mysterious Affair at Styles” follows an injured and traumatized Captain Hastings (Patel), who has been invited to a large country estate to recuperate after serving in World War I. With tensions dividing the family, what appears to be a peaceful haven soon transforms into a nightmare, as the matriarch of the family Emily Inglethorp (Walter) passes away suddenly one night, with her family quickly realizing her demise was not accidental. With a full cast of characters harboring motives for the murder, no one is beyond suspicion. As Hastings desperately seeks to unravel the mystery and shield the family from fervent media attention, he understands there is only one individual who can provide assistance. With his impeccable attire and exceptional insight, Hastings enlists the help of the brilliant detective he once knew — Hercule Poirot (Dinklage).”
“The Mysterious Affair at Styles” will launch globally on Audible on Nov. 14., and is part of a new production agreement between the platform and Agatha Christie Limited. It will incorporate Dolby Atmos sound, crafted by award-winning sound designer John Wakefield, along with an original score from actor and musician Johnny Flynn (“The Detectorists”) in conjunction with cellist and composer Joe Zeitlin. The adaptation was penned by Anna Lea (“Around the World in 80 Days”), directed by Alice Lowe (“Prevenge” and the upcoming “Timestalker”) and produced by Claire Broughton of Hat Trick Productions (“Derry Girls”).
