'One Piece' Season 2 Casts Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra

Sendhil Ramamurthy has been cast in the role of Nefertari Cobra for “ One Piece ” Season 2, Variety has reported.
Ramamurthy joins the cast of the live-action adaptation of the well-known manga and anime series. He will appear alongside new Season 2 cast members Katey Sagal and Mark Harelik as well as Daniel Lasker, Camrus Johnson, Jazzara Jaslyn, David Dastmalchian, Werner Coetser, Brendan Murray, Clive Russell, Callum Kerr, Julia Rehwald, Rob Colletti, and Ty Keogh.
In “One Piece” lore, Nefertari Cobra is the King of Alabasta and the patriarch of the Nefertari family.

Ramamurthy previously starred in the Netflix series “Never Have I Ever” as Mohan Vishwakumar. He is most recognized for his role as Dr. Mohinder Suresh in the popular NBC series “Heroes,” a role he reprised in the 2015 revival “Heroes Reborn.” He has also appeared in shows such as “Doom Patrol,” “Covert Affairs,” “New Amsterdam,” and the CW series “Beauty & the Beast.”
He is represented by Gersh, The Artists Partnership, Anonymous Content, and Goodman Genow.
“One Piece” stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. He and his crew traverse the Blue Sea in search of the mythical One Piece treasure. If he can find it, he will become the Pirate King. The cast also includes Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger.
Season 2 is currently in production. Matt Owens and Joe Tracz are the writers, co-showrunners, and executive producers for Season 2. “One Piece’s” original creator Eiichiro Oda and former co-showrunner Steven Maeda also serve as executive producers alongside Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, and Chris Symes. The series is a collaborative effort with Shueisha and is produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Netflix.
