Shortly after rumors began circulating about a possible Oasis reunion , listeners flocked to the band’s music catalog on Spotify, resulting in a substantial increase in streams.
From 9-11 a.m. UTC this morning, Oasis streams on Spotify surged over 160 percent globally compared to the previous week, and the increase has continued to climb throughout the morning, Variety can exclusively reveal. Fans are returning to the music after rumors circulated over the weekend that Oasis’ Liam and Noel Gallagher would be performing in the United Kingdom in 2025, with a potential 10-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium.
The oft-feuding brothers seemingly confirmed that a reunion is indeed on the horizon, with both posting a cryptic clip teasing that something will be taking place on Aug. 27, 2024 at 8 a.m. That will likely be an announcement of performance dates, as Liam further fanned flames in posts on X.

“I never liked the word FORMER,” wrote Liam. When one user criticized that Oasis would be playing at Heaton Park in Manchester because it was a “terrible venue,” Liam retorted, “See you at the front, you big fan.”
Oasis officially disbanded in 2009 after Noel left the band, with each brother embarking on solo careers in the years that followed. This past April, Oasis was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which could have resulted in a reunion if the band was inducted. However, Liam quickly dismissed that possibility.
“I don't care about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it's full of nonsense,” Liam Gallagher wrote on X at the time. In another post, he said of his brother: “My little brother loves hanging out with famous people, so he’d probably go; as for me, I’m taking care of myself and relaxing.”
This past June, Liam embarked on a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ debut album “Definitely Maybe,” with a reissue slated for release this Friday.
