“The Librarians: The Next Chapter” is no longer scheduled to premiere on The CW this fall, Variety has confirmed.
The series was initially set to premiere on the broadcast network on Oct. 24 following “Superman & Lois.” However, The CW announced that the docuseries “The Wranglers” will air in the 9 p.m. timeslot on Oct. 24. A new premiere date for “The Librarians: The Next Chapter” has not been announced as of this writing.
The series served as a spinoff of the TNT series “The Librarians,” which was itself a spinoff of the “Librarian” TNT film series starring Noah Wyle. The new show was first announced at The CW in 2023.

“The Next Chapter” features Callum McGowan, Jessica Green, Olivia Morris, and Bluey Robinson.
According to the official summary, the new show features Vikram (McGowan), “a Librarian from the past, who traveled through time to the present and is now stuck here. When he returns to his castle, which is now a museum, he unintentionally releases magic across the land. He is given a new team to assist him in fixing the situation, creating a new team of Librarians.”
Dean Devlin is the head writer and executive producer alongside Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson of Electric Entertainment. Wyle also serves as executive producer. Mark Franco of Electric Entertainment and Jonathan English of Balkanic Media also produce.
