John Wayne Gacy Limited Series 'Devil in Disguise' Adds Five to Cast

The upcoming Peacock limited series “ Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy ” has added five new cast members.

Gabriel Luna (“The Last of Us,” “Terminator: Dark Fate”), James Badge Dale (“Savant,” “1923”), Michael Angarano (“Oppenheimer,” “This Is Us”), Chris Sullivan (“This Is Us,” “Mercy”), and Marin Ireland are all set to star in the series. They will appear opposite Michael Chernus, who is set to play Gacy .

The show is inspired by the 2021 Peacock docuseries “John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise,” which was produced by NBC News Studios. Gacy infamously murdered 33 young men between 1972 and 1978 before his capture.

The official synopsis for the show reveals it will “expose the intricate and twisted aspects of Gacy’s life while incorporating poignant stories of his predominantly gay victims; examining the sorrow, guilt, and trauma experienced by their families and friends; and shedding light on the systemic failings, missed opportunities, and societal biases that contributed to his reign of terror.”

Luna will portray Detective Rafael Tovar, while Dale will take on the role of Chief of Detectives Joe Kozenczak. Angarano will play Sam Amirante, with Sullivan as Lead Prosecutor Bill Kunkle. Ireland will embody Elizabeth Piest.

Luna is represented by UTA, Entertainment 360, Ziffren Brittenham LLP, and Shelter PR. Dale is represented by CAA, MJ Management, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman et al. Angarano is represented by Anonymous Content, UTA, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Sullivan is represented by Gersh, Suskin/Karshan, and Hansen Jacobsen. Ireland is represented by Untitled and CAA.

Patrick Macmanus serves as writer and showrunner on “Devil in Disguise” under his Littleton Road Productions banner with Kelly Funke of Littleton Road also serving as an executive producer. Noah Oppenheim and Liz Cole of NBC News Studios also hold executive producer credits alongside Ashley Michel Hoban and Ahmadu Garba. UCP will serve as the production company.
