Jared Padalecki has been cast in the upcoming third season of “ Fire Country ” at CBS , Variety has confirmed.

Padalecki will make appearances in three episodes as a recurring character. He will portray Camden, who is described as “a SoCal firefighter and maverick with a surfer swagger who is a formidable presence and immediately recognizes Bode’s (Max Thieriot) raw talent.”

The role keeps Padalecki in business with CBS Studios, which produces “Fire Country.” Padalecki recently starred in the studio’s series “Walker,” which aired for four seasons at The CW with Padalecki in the lead role and executive producing. He was also an executive producer on the prequel series “Walker: Independence,” which aired for one season.

Padalecki is, of course, best known for his starring role in the long-running series “Supernatural” on The CW/The WB. The series aired for 15 seasons with Padalecki leading the show alongside Jensen Ackles. There have been some discussions of Padalecki and Ackles reuniting with “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke in the Amazon series “The Boys,” where Kripke is the showrunner and Ackles appears as Soldier Boy.

He is represented by UTA, Industry Entertainment, and Fuller Law.

“Fire Country” premiered on CBS in 2022 and swiftly became one of the network's most popular shows. A spinoff, “Sheriff Country” starring Morena Baccarin, has already been greenlit . Considering Padalecki's close ties to the studio, it's possible his Season 3 arc could serve as a foundation for a spinoff of his own, but no agreement is in place currently. CBS and CBS Studios declined to comment on the possibility of another spinoff.

“Fire Country” returns for Season 3 on Oct. 18. Thieriot leads the cast of “Fire Country,” which also stars Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway, and Jules Latimer. Thieriot co-created the series with Tony Phelan and Joan Rater. All three serve as executive producers alongside showrunner Tia Napolitano, as well as Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed of Jerry Bruckheimer Television.

Deadline was the first to report Padalecki's casting.
