Chile’s Storyboard Media , led by Gabriela Sandoval and Carlos Nuñez, has joined the crime drama “Wildness” (“Salvajes”) by two of Latin America’s leading women filmmakers, Claudia Huaiquimilla from Chile and Peru’s Joanna Lombardi .
The deal was finalized at the Madrid-based Iberseries & Platino Industria conference where the project is participating in the annual event’s co-production forum.
Written by Diego Vega (“October,” “El Mudo”), “Wildness” is a crime drama inspired by actual events that traces the explosive encounter between a fading Parisian model and a young surfer who deal in drugs to fund their lavish lifestyle. Set in the 1970s, the story begins in Paris and spirals toward tragedy on the remote shores of Peru.

Sandoval said: “We are very excited to finally collaborate with Joanna Lombardi, as we have been seeking ways to work together and develop a film together for some time now. ‘Wildness’ seems like the ideal project to move forward with, not only taking advantage of the new co-production agreement between Chile and Peru, but also because, from a cinematic perspective, it’s a film that will make an impact at festivals and resonate with global audiences…a perfect mix.”
“’Wildness’ is like a modern ‘Bonnie and Clyde,’ a genre film infused with Latin American reality, with all that entails. It’s a great pleasure to announce this co-production with Storyboard. I can’t think of a better project to finally collaborate with Gaby and Carlos. We’re very excited about what’s to come,” said Lombardi.
Sandoval, Núñez, Lombardi, and Ricardo Chadwick are the producers, representing their respective companies, Storyboard (Chile), El Arbol Azul (Peru), and La Family (Peru).
Huaiquimilla is best known for her drama “My Brothers Dream Awake”, which premiered at the Cineasti del Presente competition of the 74th Locarno Film Festival . It has received numerous awards since, including the Audience Award and the Grand Prix at the Toulouse Latin American Film Festival in 2022. Other notable works by her include “Bad Influence” and the TV series “42 Days of Darkness.”
Lombardi, a talented writer, director, and producer, was recognized as one of the “50 Most Powerful Women of Peru” by Forbes Peru this year. Her diverse filmography includes dramas like “In House,” and “Alone”, the docu-fiction hybrid “Quedate quieto”, and romantic comedies such as “How to Deal with a Heartbreak.”
Storyboard Media, a leading film production company in Chile, also organizes the prestigious Santiago International Film Festival (Sanfic). Their latest drama, “Maybe It’s True What They Say About Us”, was recently featured in the San Sebastian Film Festival.
Casting is still in progress for the project, which is scheduled to begin filming in April and May 2026 in Peru and France.
The 4 th Iberseries & Platino Industria will take place from October 1st to 4th.
