Asa Butterfield (“Sex Education”), Molly Windsor (“Three Girls”), Fra Fee (“Hawkeye”), Siobhan Finneran (“Time”) and Christopher Eccleston (“True Detective”) will lead the cast of “Out of the Dust”, a new Netflix series from “Intergalactic” writer Julie Gearey.

“Out of the Dust”, a psychological thriller set within a conservative Christian community, follows the narrative of Rosie (Windsor), a dedicated wife and mother, as she embarks on a dangerous path of liberation and self-discovery after encountering Sam (Fee), an escaped convict.

Butterfield plays Adam, Finneran will play Mrs Phillips and Eccleston joins as Mr Phillps in the six-part series from Double Dutch Productions, part of Banijay U.K .

The synopsis describes Rosie’s life with her husband Adam and daughter within a secluded Christian community. “The unexpected arrival of escaped prisoner Sam into her life reveals the true nature and constraints of her world; perhaps this hidden religious community doesn’t have her best interests at heart. As cracks begin to emerge in her marriage, Sam presents himself as her savior. However, given his dark criminal past, the question arises: where lies the greatest danger – with the cult or with Sam?”

Filming has commenced this month in the United Kingdom, with Jim Loach (“Criminal Record”) and Philippa Langdale (“A Discovery of Witches”) serving as directors.

Iona Vrolyk and Myar Craig-Brown serve as executive producers for Double Dutch Productions alongside Gearey. Nick Pitt assumes the role of producer.

Vrolyk, the producer behind “Intergalactic”, established Double Dutch Productions in 2022, backed by Banijay U.K. “Out of the Dust” marks the first project commissioned for the label.
